My City is a Garden

Garden inspriation from around the world

FROM THE EDITOR

A travel poster from 1900 when Menton was already a destination for gardeners. This view probably from the garden of the Villa Maria Serena on the bay of Garavan.

“Ma ville est un jardin”- My City is a Garden- is the slogan for the city of Menton, France.

Besides it’s exceptional public gardens, or the private gardens, Menton possesses hectares of green spaces that have turned this ancient village, once owned by the Grimaldi family of Monaco, into ‘la perle de France’ and one of the most liveable places in the world.

Menton is but one of the places that has inspired me in the creation of my own garden and a place I return to again and again.

I invite you on this journey – to seek out the finest gardens around the world, to explore the history, style, personality and private passions that created them. There is so much to learn about the way each country’s history and climate and character have combined to create distinctive gardens. These are our inspirations to create Eden wherever we live.

Follow our journey and be inspired!

How wonderful that we can have a place to come to share our ‘madness!’ Adding it to my sidebar this very moment!
